Happy Tails 2013
Hellboy
I adopted Hellboy this past December and I wanted to let you and the ABR organization that things couldn't be better. I renamed Hellboy to Ronan. Truthfully I couldn't have asked for a more well-rounded Boxer. He is a wonderful walker and loves to meet new people and other dogs. He definitely is a perfect match for me.
Sugar Ray
Sugar Ray was adopted by a loving couple. Sugar Ray enjoys going on long morning walks with her mom and going to work with her dad weekly to hang out with her work family...always letting them know who is boss. Sugar Ray is the center of her mom and dad’s universe, bringing everyone tons of laughter and brightening up there day with her non-stop wiggle. The couple reports that “She is amazing and has come such a long way. She is so full of life, she loves meeting new people, and although were still unsure about her age one thing we know that is true is her “puppy” essences shows all day every day. ” Sugar Ray is spoiled rotten and undoubtedly loved.
Casper
Casper has transitioned great into our family and absolutely loves his new 2 year old skin brother! They play chase, cars, etc. most of the day. He also enjoys his new backyard even though he doesn't have complete freedom back there yet until he learns to come when called. He has filled such a void from us suddenly loosing our 5 year old boxer Campbell and while he can never replace that love he has carved out a brand new spot in our hearts. He has truly been like a brand new puppy despite being 9 months when we got him as he has some separation anxiety and a little bit of trouble hoping up onto the couch or even climbing the stairs. He is well adjusted now though and I would say he loves his new home and family as much as we love him. We also had to show him a little bit of Auburn love since our last boxer was Campbell Cadillac so his "official" name is Casper Malzahn.
Goose
Goose was adopted by an amazingly perfect family for her. They were touched by her
story and wanted to help her continue her journey to becoming a confident, happy
girl. They have Jake (an ABR rescue, formerly known as Jethro), a work from home mom,
a dad who is a teacher, a cat, a 9th grade girl, and an older parent in their home.
So she will always have human and canine companionship. They walk and run so she
will get her daily exercise (which is a stress reliever for her). She walked out of
her foster's house happily with her new family. While her foster family will miss
this sweet girl, they are beyond thrilled that she has found a family to claim as her
own. Happy trails, Goosie Girl!
Junior
Junior was adopted by a family with two other boxers (one of which is an ABR alumni). He also has two skin brothers to play with. His new mom and dad have opposite schedules so someone is always around. The family reports that "He is great. Just blended right in.. It's already feels like he's been here along.” Junior is well-loved.
Bentley
Bentley (now Phantom) is SUCH a lucky boy!! He found his perfect forever home, complete with 2 skin brothers and 1 fur brother! Phantom made himself right at home running laps around the yard and playing fetch with his brothers. I bet you can guess who gets to have Phantom sleep in his room Congratulations to Phantom and his new family!
Nash
Nash/Murphy joined another ABR alum Roscoe and is doing very well. He is growing into a big dog, although he's still 80% legs. While it took a little bit for Roscoe to get used to having another dog around, they have really bonded. If one of them is not here, they really miss each other. It's a non-stop wrestling match in the backyard. They are a good match for sure!
Annie
Annie has begun her new life. She will grow up as part of an
amazing family. She has four young skin siblings and a rescued one year old Boston
Terrier to keep her occupied. The family lives on 2 acres so they will have lots of
room to play and explore. The mom stays at home so Annie will have lots of human
companionship in addition to constant canine company. While we will miss our sweet
Annie Bananie, we know this family will provide a wonderful life for our incredible
girl!
Dora
Congrats to Dora as she arrived at her new forever home this morning! She has a new fancy crate and a great new mom who's going to give her lots of love and spoil her rotten. After years of everyone giving her puppies all the attention, Dora is loving all the attention now. She was just catching on to the "sit" command and will learn much more in her new home. She will make her new mommy very happy!
Snoop
We couldn't have chosen a better FURever family for Snoop. He definitely chose them! Happy tails, happy kids, and a big backyard for him. He never had never really played with toys before and he was chasing tennis balls and climbing on the little trampoline with the kids. Can you say...Doggie Heaven?
Chix
Well Chix is one happy chick! Her skin Daddy picked her up on 7/18/2013 and she is so happy. The first task on her list that day was to go shopping! Chix wants ABR to know she now has a skin Daddy she also has two fur sisters, Fu and Tonka. Chix now will enjoy a life of exercise, playing in water and living in a big ole doghouse (the house she lives in!) Chix will want for nothing again. She sends her love back to ABR for taking care of her and getting her out of Chattanooga, TN just in time.
Boss
Boss was a special story that we were afraid may not have a happy ending for a while there, but after an initial struggle, ABR got him into the family and he hit is big! Boss had a sibling that he had spent his entire life with until they were briefly separated when Champ was adopted but ABR did not have Boss to place. But these boys were destined to be together. By the time ABR had Boss in the family, Champ’s dad had decided he really needed someone to play with and as things turned out, Boss and Champ ended up back together! We are so happy for these handsome boys and so thankful to their dad for making that happen! Congratulations to you all!
Bam Bam
Bam Bam (now known as Bandit) is loving his new life with his forever family! He has all the love and attention a good boxer boy needs! He loves riding in the car with the family. He has learned to get along with the cat and loves Grandma’s dog! We are so happy you found a perfect home Bandit! We wish you all many happy years together!
River
River has found his forever family and it was a match made in Heaven! He has a fur sister that he loves to play chase with! He has a household with 4 humans to love and dote on him! They say he has made the perfect addition to their family and they cannot imagine life without him! Congratulations sweet boy! Take good care of your family!
Blossom
Yippy for Blossom! Blossom’s new family was looking for a girl to put the spring back in Barkley’s step. He had been sad and not as active since he lost his girl. Blossom and Barkley were fast friends and love to go play in the dog park. The whole family is excited to have Blossom in the house with them! Congratulations to you all! We hope you have many years of happiness and laughter together!
Luke
According to his forever family, "Yoshi (formerly known as Luke) has been incredibly great and easy to transition!! He fits in great and Bowser (his boxer brother and ABR alumni) is finally liking having him around full time :). Our daughter adores him and he's been amazing with her. We think he might end up being "her" dog!" Congratulations on your forever family (and thanks to your mom for snapping the picture)!
Tyson and Thor
Tyson and Thor were siblings that came to ABR with the challenge of trying to be placed in a home that could take them both. A challenge at any time, but ABR had just placed another bonded pair in the days preceding these boys coming in. But they hit it big! They are both living the happy life together with their wonderful furever family! Not only can the boys be found hanging out on the dog couch together, their skin brother has even been caught going poty with the boys out in the yard. Congratulations handsome boys and your wonderful new family! We see lots of happy years together!
Tabitha
Tabby is now in her forever home!! She gets to join to skin siblings in her new
family. She will get to enjoy long walks with her mom and many trips to the pet
store. She is going to be extra spoiled being an only dog. Tabby picked her perfect
family and she has become their best friend. She will spend the rest of her life
being spoiled and loved.
Charlie
Charlie was adopted today by an awesome couple and their 11 year old lab mix, Marley.
Since the husband is retired and will be home most of the time, Charlie will get his
fill of human companionship. Charlie needed work on his manners. Well wouldn't you
know that the husband has the time, knowledge, and patience to train Charlie. He will
also have the spry Marley to play with. We are so excited that Charlie has found a
home where he will get what he needs to grow into a well-behaved adult boxer.
Louie
Louie came to ABR as 'Hank', a nickname given because he was found in Henry County, but his new foster mom did not think he looked like a 'Hank'. Louie got his name from his sweet, silly, and mellow personality. After recovering from kennel cough and gaining some weight he was looking for his forever home. Louie is a lovebug who never met a stranger and when his perfect family came along everyone knew right away. He is currently being spoiled by two parents and two human brothers!
Hugo
Max (formerly known as Hugo) went to his forever home. He has two adults that are home most of the day every day. He also has another rescue boxer, Maggie, to keep him company when his humans must leave him at the house. He will periodically also have grand kids to play with. While we are most certainly sad to see our happy little guy go, we are thrilled he has found such a great forever family!
Ali
Ali joins a family that quickly fell in love with him. He is adored and should never be short of attention. Ali loves that Mom works from home; no lonely days for him. He gets to prance about the neighborhood looking handsome and frequents the local pet stores showing off what a good boy he is. Mom is great company as Ali patiently wants for his skin siblings to get home from school. We are happy for this sweet baby. He's a great boy and deserves every ounce of love that he will get from his family. Congratulations, Ali!
Oscar
People say, “I could never foster. I just couldn't give them up.” Families like Oscar's are why we can.
Oscar is easy to love: oh so cute!, sweet, smart, playful, entertainingly nosey, and for sure, a very good snuggler; But how would his fur sister receive this new attention hog into her home? With open paws! Oscar and Chelsea were instant friends. Their first meeting yielded two muddy boxers and later, an exhausted puppy. You just can't ask for two fur siblings to hit it off any better. Oscar is now and forever with his loving family; it was meant to be and we are thrilled for the entire family. He and his sister are deeply loved and will be spoiled the way all Boxer babies should be. We wish you all a long and happy life together.
Zeke
A note from Max’s new parents: Max (formerly Zeke) is doing very well. He and Ellie (his 3 year old boxer sister) became buddies quickly and now play constantly. Their days are spent playing and wrestling in the back yard. In the evenings, they enjoy cuddling. Ellie has never been happier. Thanks for letting us bring Max home!
Cooper
Sweet Cooper found his forever home with a sweet couple looking to adopt a play mate for their Boxer, Toby. The day they met, it was love at first sight for everyone! Now Cooper and Toby are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby human brother to complete their family! Congratulations on your happy tail Cooper! xoxo
Saige
Saige and her new forever family!! She'll have TONS of fun in this home!
Pogo
Pogo, now Penny, found her forever home! She is so excited to have a mommy and daddy of her very own! Here she is loving on her daddy! She sure is a lucky girl!
Hope
Thank you so much for rescuing Hope and allowing her to come into our family. She has only been with us a few days but already fits in like a glove! Our other ABR rescue, Tebow, has a new playmate and they could not be happier together. Knowing a little bit about Hope's probable background we are so excited to be able to make up
for lost love!
Sam
Sam, ABR's first blind dog, went to his forever home last weekend! He joins Rocky Sr who was adopted from ABR last September. We have no doubt he will be loved and spoiled by his new mom and fur brother.
Tyson
Tyson was fostered and adopted by Marianne and Cal Erickson. You’d never know he was a skinny little boy when they took him in. He has become such a handsome young man and is the total center of attention at his new home. Tyson has trained them well.
Faith
After being with ABR for 1year, 4months, Miss Faith finally got her forever home. We can't think of anyone more deserving!! Faith will love her big back yard :) Thank you to all the wonderful people who cooked chicken and rice for her in the beginning days with ABR...walked her and fell in love with her. She finally got her Happy Tail!l
Dozer
Dozer went to his “Forever Home” today! He will be an only dog living the bachelor life. His skin father really fell for this big fella!
